Epicor Daily
How I survived the pandemic was getting vaxed and boosted, washing my hands religiously, and as an extra measure I took one capsule of Epicor every day. I still take Epicor daily to ward off colds and flu.
Epicor is a postbiotic. While probiotics are healthy bacteria that live in your gut, postbiotics are released from the bacteria when they digest fiber molecules. The benefits of postbiotics are supporting the immune system, treating digestive upset, and have been known to reduce the impact of certain allergies.
The origin of Epicor started in Iowa at—of all things—a livestock supplement lab. A farmer named CW Bloomhall noticed that his farm animals that were fed table scraps fermented with sour milk were healthier than the other animals. Eventually Bloomhall founded a company that specialized in fermentation process as an additive to livestock feed. The discovery of how Epicor can support immune systems in humans occurred when a personnel manager wondered why the factory workers at the plant had far fewer sick days than the office workers. The plant commissioned pilot studies and found that the factory workers who were directly exposed to fermented product weren’t as sick as the office staff. And thus Epicor in capsule form was created.
I always think the best way to get postbiotics is through diet. I wish I liked naturally fermented products like sauerkraut, but it’s not my thing. Epicor, however, is shown to support healthy gut microbiome, too, and it’s convenient and portable. You can find it in our Wellness department.
