2025 Board of Directors Election
The co-op currently has two openings for three-year terms on the board. Two candidates have applied and qualified to run to fill the vacancies.
All members will receive an email asking you to vote for or to abstain on the following two candidates.
If you prefer a paper ballot, please ask your cashier for a ballot.
George Raúl Audi: George holds a Ph.D. in Health Services, Policy and Management from USC-Arnold School of Public Health, a MBA from East Carolina University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a tenured professor at Florida A&M University where his research focuses on Multi-Hospital Systems, Health Disparities and Medical Marijuana. He is from Wilmington, North Carolina and loves the distinct differences, but many similarities between Tallahassee and Wilmington. George was drawn to become a board member of the co-op because, “I have been a member of the board for one term. During this time, the products offered and overall strength of the organization has increased substantially and I would like to see further growth in a second term. I understand the importance the nutrition and access to quality food has on an individual and community. I would like to see a higher initiative to assist the youth in Tallahassee to understand the importance of nutrition and what quality food looks and tastes like.”
Camille Lewis: Camille Lewis is a Tallahassee native, local urban farmer, and dedicated community advocate. She is the owner of Earth’s Garden LLC, where she promotes agricultural education and empowers individuals and families to grow their own food using organic, sustainable methods. An experienced educator passionate about food justice and community wellness, Camille is pursuing a doctoral degree in Educational Psychology at Florida State University, where her research focuses on farm-to-school programming and healthy eating with preschool students.
Candidate Statement:
As a longtime customer and a resident of the community surrounding the Co-op, I am deeply invested in its growth and continued service to our neighborhoods. I am a local urban farmer, educator, and community organizer with a strong commitment to food justice and sustainability. As the owner of Earth’s Garden, I advocate for local food systems and teach families how to grow their own food using organic methods. I believe that health and wellness are at the heart of thriving communities, and food access is a fundamental part of that. I’m running for the board because I believe my lived experience, insights as a farmer, and deep community ties can help advance the Co-op’s mission of equitable access and support the betterment of the communities it serves. .
The board determines the long-range vision for the co-op, provides financial oversight, and sets policies to guide the general manager in achieving our strategic priorities. Our board members are leaders, servants, stewards, and visionaries. This is a volunteer position.
Co-op board members must:
· Participate fully in board meetings. Attend all meetings of the board (normally the 4th Tuesday of February, May, August, and November, along with other special meetings or committee meetings each month, as needed.
· Prepare in advance of every board meeting by reviewing the agenda, reading the packet, and compiling your feedback/questions.
· Actively participate in board discussion via e-mail or phone between meetings as necessary.
· Attend other events, such as annual member meetings and in-store meet and greet activities.
4/24/25: Voting opens
5/19/25: Voting ends
5/20/25: Annual Member Meeting (6:00 pm – 8:00 pm) - introduce new board members – followed by a short board meeting to elect officers.

April 24th
Election process opens for members.
May 19th
Completion of election. Voting closes at 11:59 PM.
May 20th
Election Results tabulated and presented at Annual Meeting. Election of Officers. Meeting will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Community Co-Op Market’s Cafe located at 1235 Apalachee Parkway, Tallahassee, FL 32301.
