Leon County Says Cover All The Faces
As of Thursday, June 25 Leon County requires face coverings for everyone. County Commission Chairman Bryan Desloge says, “If it’s under a roof, you’re wearing a mask.”
That’s nothing new at the co-op, we required masks before it was cool! Joking aside, we have held firm on this restriction for the safety of our employees and customers. We serve a large community, and that community in turn interacts with an even larger one. We'd rather the inconvenience of temporary discomfort and the increased need to talk with our hands that comes with covering our noses and mouths, than to find that we’re the source of infection for anyone one on our turf. Thankfully we've had no reported cases from our staff, so we can continue to serve the Big Bend in the best way we know how.
In addition to our fashionable face coverings, CCM is still doing most of the things we added to our daily routine when all the COVID craziness began. That includes:
Frequent sanitization of high-touch surfaces
Plastic sheeting at registers to separate cashiers from customers
Reserving 8am–9am for seniors and immunocompromised shoppers daily
One-way aisles to encourage social distancing
Checking employee’s temperatures daily
Supplying disposable gloves for customer use
Social distancing cashiers at registers
Social distancing reminders posted throughout the store
Curbside pick-up available via online orders
We do this to protect our staff, but we hope that it helps everyone feel safe and comfortable shopping in our store
