Community Co-op Market is launching a rotating, community art exhibit that will feature local artists monthly. Our September artist is Carly Berry (@itsnotthatweird).
“Carly is a full-time freelance illustrator and designer with over 7 years of experience. Currently flailing around Tallahassee, FL where she graduated with a BA in studio art with a focus in printmaking from Florida State University.
Okay, talking in the third person weirds me out. Anyway, I can usually be found in my studio cave obsessing over pixels, manically screen printing up a storm, or tacking up my unsolicited art around town. I'm fueled by vegan food, and the hunt for the best thrift finds and owe all my success to Command + Z.
With a background in printmaking and inspired by '90s cartoons and traditional tattoos, my style focuses on bold design with restricted color palettes. I love to incorporate the hand-touched element so replicating textures and print flaws, like off-registered colors and lived-in apparel, is totally my jam.
I specialize in illustration and brand identity. Most recently I've added package design, animated gifs, and web design to that list. In my personal work, I enjoy playing around with a variety of mediums like printmaking, sculpture, and film photography.”
Please join us September 7, from 5-6 for a wine and cheese reception where Carly will have her art available to purchase (plus other pieces not shown here) and you'll be able to chat with Carly about her work.
CCM is seeking new artists for the rest of the year! Apply to be one of the featured artists on our website.
